JUAC has received an award from The Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IAPT) in recognition of the hard work, commitment and collaboration by the 10 education unions in raising awareness of the dangers of asbestos in schools. Representatives from JUAC have been invited to attend an event on 31 January to receive the award. It will be attended by various disciplines of the industry such as training companies and licensed asbestos contractors, Union representatives, construction companies, demolition contractors, etc. JUAC have been invited to give a presentation on the work of the campaign. The event is heavily promoted over the IATP social network, newsletters, and bulletins; all of which have a global reach. All IATP members are encouraged to promote the dinner both before and after to help raise awareness. This year the dinner is being held to support Asbestos Awareness and Support Cymru (AASC), a small but worthy charity who are helping people come to terms with asbestos disease and helping raise the vital awareness needed to protect people in the future. All funds raised on the evening shall be donated to AASC.
